Gardner Village

My Grandma was in town from Oregon so we decided to take her to see the sights of SLC. In the morning we went to The Park Cafe.
After that we went to Gardner Village where we met up with my cousin & his wife and daughter. We saw all of the shops, checked out the Witches and got some junk food at the village candy store.

This is Jordan standing on the hay bale (obvoiusly). I tried getting him to sit in a cute pose but he said it itched or something... boys! Why can't they just understand that beauty comes before comfort?!

He climbed up on this little wall and insisted that I take a picture of him up there, so I decided I should include it on my post.

Again, another one that he insisted on. Please notice how he never looks at the camera for the pictures that he wants taken. What an odd child.

This is my cousins daughter Savannah. She was showing off on the pony ride.

This is My Grandma Shila and Me.
I got to spend a ton of time with her over the weekend. I am so grateful that I did. I was able to get to know her a lot better and it was fun just relaxing and having girl time. We did lots of shopping and lots of eating... and lots of planning for our upcoming cruise!!
On Monday she colored my hair & it looks really awesome. Thanks Grandma!
I'll see you in Miami in April!

Smart Cookie

On Friday night I got together with Landon. He is so nice...he got us pizza & then took me to Smart Cookie. For some reason we pretended like we were on a date... oh wait! I remember why, Landon hasn't always been the nicest to me, when it comes to our relationship, so maybe he felt obligated to be nice for once. :) He even paid for my dessert! (The fake date was his idea.)
We had a ton of fun reminiscing about the "old times" and had a good time making comments about interesting people that passed us while we were eating our dessert.
If you haven't been to smart cookie it is this amazing place where they make custom ice-cream sandwiches. I highly recommend it!

Whoopsi! His eyes were closed...

Can you ever be serious Landon?

Wait! We're not ready yet!

That's better! There's never a greater pic than when you're stuffing your face.

After devouring our Smart Cookies we went back to Landon's and watched a movie. I really can't even remember what it's called but it's something about this old Irish guy who won the lottery but died when he won it or something, I honestly don't remember, probably because I slept through 87% of the movie... Sorry Landon!

And Landon, this one's for you!

Zing! Zang! Zoom!

My Parents, Grandma Shila, Aunt Sandy, Nephew Jordan, and I all went to the circus! We went to the Pre-Show where they let you meet the performers and try on circus clothes!

Tip 1: Don't try to get a 3-year old to focus on taking a picture when there are circus vendors all around selling things that he wants!

Tip 2: Blue yellow and pink don't exactly go together. Although you can't exactly blame my mom for the outfit, I am guilty of picking out the jacket.

Tip 3: Don't try to explain to someone how to use your camera while they are taking the picture.
Oh and P.S. That jacket is really really heavy! I bet it weighs a good 10 pounds. No wonder circus people are skinny... hey... maybe that's what I should do, start wearing heavy clothes... then maybe I will get to my goal faster!

This is the ever adorable Jordan with his new sword that spins & lights up and his new wizard hat!

Craft Night

My BFF Rachal and I love making letter sets for the Holidays/Seasons... here is our most recent one, but lets be honest, we did start this set about a year ago. It took a lot of hours, and a ton of trial and error, but we finally got them finished!

All Finished!!

Healing Field

There is an amazing thing that happens around Sept 11th 2009. It is a Healing Field Memorial. If you haven't been there the Colonial Flag Company puts up 1 flag for each person that died in the 9-11 attacks. I had been wanting to go for a few years, but never got there in time. I am so grateful that I was able to make it this year. There is an amazing spirit there, one that I haven't felt very many places in my life. It's almost as if the spirits of those who died come there, knowing that they are being honored, it is a place that is overflowing with peace and reverence. It's almost like you have the need to be silent while you are there and just take in all of the feelings. In some of my shots there is fog, but it really wasn't very foggy that day, I find it very interesting.

State Fair

As I mentioned before, the State Fair is one of my very favorite things in life. This year I went twice. It makes my heart happy.

Of course, the animals are one of the best parts of the fair. I found my new best friend for when I go hiking! This guy can carry all of your stuff for you, and supposedly they don't attack. I'm not exactly convined of that.

Jordan loves petting all of the goats.

There's nothing like taking a shower in public! The cows looked none too happy about it either!

They have this cute little farm for kids where they go around and get corn and feed it to a "cow" (A big giant plastic looking thing....) then they "milk" the cow, plant vegetables, pick vegetables, ride a tractor, get eggs and wool from a "sheep." We took my nephew Jordan, and he just loves running around the whole place. At the end of it they give the kids $1 to get a treat from a little country store they have set-up. It's really adorable!

Of course, since Jordan was with my parents he got all of the junk food under the sun. This is what a tongue looks like after Rainbow Dip-N-Dots:

We went to the Rodeo on opening night, but of course my camera decided to stop working when it was time for all the HOT cowboys to come out! But I did get a picture of the sheep all clustered together after their turn in the mutton bustin show.

Bees Game

On Labor Day Morgan, Ashlee and I went to the bees game!

It was fun to relax and watch the boys play... but sadly they got their butts kicked BIG TIME!! Final Score: River Cats: 10, Bees: 4.

St. George #3

Labor Day weekend 2009.

A typical Labor Day weekend for me entails a final campout with the Fam at our property, but not this year. This year I was found on a road trip with Ashlee and Morgan!

We went from Friday to Monday and had lots of fun! (see Below)
I found these sweet glasses in Fillmore where we stopped for dinner.

We also found the perfect book for Morgan!

We also stopped in Cedar on the way down & they had postings all over for a Farmers Market which is all well and good, but what the heck are Pluots??

Saturday we went to breakfast at the Bear Paw Cafe & it was so yummy! If you go to St. George eating there should be a priority on your "to-do" list!

If you put up a sign up like this you know that I am going to take an obnoxious picture. Fair warning to all!

On Saturday we decided to do a little off-roading in Ashlee's Xterra. We had a little scare with the car for a few minutes & thankfully Heavenly Father inpired Ash & Morgan to call Patrick who became the Hero of our Vacation!

On the way out of the place where we were off-roading we noticed this sign......

I guess at least now we know for next time!

A change is coming

Ahhh.... Fall. How I love love love fall! It is by far my favorite season. (Add this to my list of favorite things) I love that the trees change and that the weather turns a little chilly. You can feel the brisk air in the morning & also smell the change in the air.

There are also so many great events in the fall. The State Fair is in the fall (my #2 very favorite thing in the whole world) as well as my Birthday which might as well be a national Holiday.

I love that I get to start baking delicious treats like Pumpkin Bars and Cinnamon Rolls and burning candles with these same scents.

But lets not forget one of the MOST important things in the fall... FOOTBALL SEASON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Also, my favorite Holiday Halloween is in the fall. Decorating for the fall is so fun, and for me it's a time to relax and unwind from the busy summer season.
Adios Summer!

MmmMmm Good!

I bet that none of you have seen HOT PIRATES like this before!!

There's nothin' better than side ponytails & patches!
(We have bodyguards boys, don't get too excited!)

Girls' Day

I went with my B.F.F. "Buddy" A.K.A. Rachal & her mom Gayle to Park City a few weeks ago! I went up there to accompany them on their shopping trip.

We went to Bandits' on Main Street for lunch. It was sooooooooo good! "Our Mom" spoiled us and bought lunch for the 3 of us. Gayle is so great! One of the nicest people you could meet.

After we got done eating, of course we stopped by O.C. Tanner. Not only does Gayle work for them, but she looooooooves jewelry! It happened that one of her prior co-workers was working & she let me try on some jewelry... not to mention one of the rings only cost $300,000.00!! Yes.. you read that right... THREE HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS!!!!! Too bad it didn't get stuck on my finger, hahaha. I also tried on a bracelet that cost $250,000.00! I don't think I've ever been worth so much at one time in my life! I was going to ask if I could take a picture with it on... but then I chickened out... just know that the diamond was HUGE and was crystal clear!

Buddy & Buddy... best friends forever!

Love

Okay... So I know that's it's been a pathetically long time since I have blogged! You'll have to forgive me, I have really been busy and blogging has fallen to the bottom of the priority list...

I do want you to know that in my absence I took my test on the "Wheel of Love" and I'm and Animal!! Watch out boys!
